For each of these areas, important information will be needed to make a comprehensive evaluation possible. From the list of information above, a structure of internal management system is needed to identify the clear scope of internal control and management as far as the flow of authority from the company to suppliers and other stakeholders on the supply chain is concerned. This system is important in ensuring that information flows from the right source and with the right authority to avoid conflict of instructions.

Systems of control and transparency are also important in ensuring that all stakeholders within the supply chain can be adequately monitored and evaluated for their output of work. As Garrod and Willis (2009) advocate, the control and transparency must not only focus on external stakeholders if due diligence must really be followed to the latter. Rather, internal stakeholders such as managers and administrators responsible for effecting supply chain management processes must also be adequately monitored for control and transparency.

Once control and transparency are in place for both in-house stakeholders and external stakeholders, the need to achieve strengthened company engagement with suppliers will be achieved. Regardless of the control and transparency system, there may still be organizational conflicts and challenges, which are expected to be resolved using the company level grievance system. From the list above, it would note that the most important lines of information needed to adequately undertake to purchase resources are those that have to do with information and risk.

To make purchases that are devoid of litigation, following due diligence, in line with procurement procedures, and offers value for money, it is important that the organization obtains as many sources of credible information as possible (Evan and Stabler, 2005). Such information would particularly serve as feasibility information about stakeholders on the supply chain from which purchases shall be made.
