? GLOBAL WARMING A Report on Global Warming Global warming is a product of the greenhouse effect. It is seen to cause a variety of negative effects and is caused by the increase in green house gases. Various researches have been carried out and indicate that global warming is the centre of various disasters on the earth’s surface. Global warming is the main threat that faces the world because of its effects. The effects mainly affect several countries in the world. It is the main cause of increased heating on the earth’s surface thus leading to various problems. Even though it has various impacts, there is still hope of reducing the problems. Scientists are doing research in order to come up with ways that can help overcome the problem. Aim The main aim of this research is to find out the effects or problems caused by global warming and to discover the ways of solving the problems. The research is carried out in order to discover the main causes of global warming and to find out the possible solutions that would help to reduce it. Introduction Global warming can be defined as the heating of the earth or warming of the planet due to the rise in average temperature on the entire surface. Global warming has become the most complicated issue facing the world as a whole. It is destined to have various destructive impacts on the earth’s surface, people’s health, and their entire environment including plants. Global warming is predicted to be caused by various greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide. These gases cause extreme heating on the surface thus leading to many problems. This is meant to study the causes of global warming its effects on health, plants and humans. In addition, it is meant to discuss the ways that can help to solve the problems caused by global warming. It also focuses on the ways China contribute in global warming and the ways they can be supported in order to reduce their rate of contribution (Pathak et al. 2009). The methods used to help gather information In gathering information, various articles are used such as newspapers, journals, other reports carried out by other individuals and comparing the findings. Journals would help by telling what global warming is and its causes. It would also help to know the effects it has on the earth’s surface (Durkin 2007). Newspapers help in gathering the latest effects of global warming. In addition, other sources that may have good sources of information were also used in order to get appropriate information. Results or findings The information collected from several sources indicates that global warming is mainly caused by the emission of green house gases. Global warming is the overall warming of the planet based on the mean temperature over the whole surface of the earth. The main causer of global warming is carbon dioxide that is emitted through burning of fossil fuels like oil, natural gases, and coal. These fossil fuels emit large quantities of green house gases to the atmosphere. The research also found that the most industrialized nations are the leading nations in releasing the pollutant gases to the atmosphere than the developing nations. This is because industries release pollutant gases to the atmosphere and the gases cause global warming. Some of the nations that lead in emission of pollutant gasses are China, United States and India. The rapid increase in population and industrialization leads to suffering of unwanted environmental problems. Rapid industrialization mainly increases the rate of pollution that is accompanied by a gradual increase in atmospheric temperature leading to increased heating of the surface. The heating of the earth’s surface due to increased global temperature is known as global warming. Due to rapid industrialization in the current decades, the rate of global warming has raised leading to various effects (Revkin 2011). Most scientists point out dangers that the global warming is likely to cause due to the increasing rate of green house gasses emission. Most effects of global warming mainly affect all living organisms living on the earth’s surface. The main cause of global warming according to research is the greenhouse effect. The green house gases that contribute in global warming include carbon dioxide, water vapor, ozone, and methane. Certainly, the largest source of green house gas is the burning of fossil fuels that lead to emission of carbon dioxide. The other causes of global warming are, the emission of methane from animals and other plants, deforestation, excessive use of chemical fertilizers on crops. Effects of global warming Global warming has various effects on plants, animals and human beings. Global warming causes an increase in sea levels. Scientists had detected an increase in sea levels worldwide due to high melting rate of two massive ice sheets in Greenland and Antarctica. Furthermore, research has discovered that various nations will experience the effects of the rising sea levels which would lead to displacement. In addition, global warming causes severe storms such as cyclones and hurricanes (Lynch et al 2010). However, scientists have come up with other evidences claiming that global warming will significantly increase the intensity of the extreme storms that may cause a lot of problems to living creatures and can even cause their death. Global warming also causes various climate changes that are extremely unfavorable for the growth of crops. The unfavorable climates lead to massive crop failure that causes lack of food. According to the recent research, various changes cause variations in temperatures that cause critical conditions for the growth of crops. This situation may lead to lack of food to sustain lives leading to death (Houghton 2009). The climatic change is also expected to have impacts on water supply. Therefore, in the future, water shortages would result into low food production, hinder the economic development, reduce sanitation and damage the ecosystem. In addition, various species would disappear due to global warming. Global warming causes extreme heating of the surface that would later cause death to various animal species. This would definitely interfere with the ecology. Moreover, global warming may lead to the disappearance of the coral reefs. Global warming in China China is one of the countries that have a rapid economic growth. China’s rapid economic growth produces a surge in emissions of greenhouse gases. This situation hinders the international efforts in curbing global warming. According to research, china appears to be the leading producer of greenhouse gases and largest emitter of carbon dioxide due to the increased rate of coal burning and other fossil fuels (Darroch 2000). China excessively uses coal as the main source of fuel in most industries and economic boom. This actually leads to enormous emission of greenhouse gases. Furthermore, the increased population in China also contributes to global warming. For instance, the congestion of a large number of people in a small place leads to pollution. Moreover, the population takes part in doing various activities such as deforestation for settlement and economic purposes, and increased use of fossil fuels as the major source of fuels. Therefore, China’s activities emit the largest amount of greenhouse gases compared to the other nations. What the Environmental Stakeholders are doing to curb Global Warming Politicians have held various debates and some are still going on in Copenhagen Climate Summit and the Cancun Climate Summit on the Kyoto Protocol that sets the legal limitations of emissions. Developing countries blame most developed countries on global warming because they are more industrialized. In addition, according to scientists’ research, global warming is likely to cause various dangers that would affect people’s lives greatly. For this reason, they call for the world leaders for policies that would help reduce the world emission of gases that causes global warming. Global warming affects the public therefore and it is their concern to help in reducing emission of greenhouse gases. Conclusion Global warming is a fact that everyone in the whole world has to face. Its various effects have actually claimed several lives by the disasters they inflict on the creation. The growth of global warming is gradual but it is not too late to carry out practices that would help reduce the cause. For instance, the public should reduce the rate at which they use fuels that emit carbon dioxide. Furthermore, people should practice ways that would help to reduce the emission of the gases that cause global warming as claimed by scientists.   Bibliography Darroch-Lozowski, V, 2006.
