Education Pendulum al Affiliation Education Pendulum Education Pendulum and its Existence Enlightenment in the society takes different shapes with a primary aim of impacting knowledge and wisdom in learners. Education is achieved through various means. Different technics will provide different levels of understanding owing to the psychological and learning potentials of learning. Educational curriculums and syllabuses are designed with an aim of ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in knowledge delivery. Countries all over the world have a unique and concrete learning method for her learning population (Matthews, Gauld, & Stinner, 2005). The pendulum in education occurs as a result of the dynamics of our society. Changes in technological, demographic and political systems in the society are brought into the education system. The learning system must be appropriate to the contemporary issues prevailing in the society. Education has been going back and forth over years, and this is because we have been trying to improve the education style. The pendulum swing occurs due to the reason that, whenever we are trying to improve education, hence we set some procedures but unfortunately we left the objectives pending. Therefore, the suspension of the predetermined goals are like rolling the ball up the hill and later living it rolling back before we get the ball at the apex of the hill. This trend of leaving the ball to roll back to the bottom of the hill has been going on in the education system. Hence, the education system has been swing just like the pendulum ball. Around 40 years ago, most parts of the world preferred the use of television as a learning tool. Most education movies were introduced; hence everyone was swing from teacher system to television learning system. Television was viewed as means of taking students globally to watch the realistic shows such as; kissing Queen Isabella goodbye. Moreover, the television was more efficient compared to the certified teacher because it was simple to replay what the students had not understood. The television was not emotional as compared to teacher hence it was friendly and fair to students (Matthews, 2000). After a while students become bored and scared of movies, hence the stakeholders were forced to get back to the standard teacher education. Computers were later introduced to be used as teaching tools due to the innovation of technologies globally. Computers are more effective and efficient compared to television. Using computers in learning has exposed students to more new things compared to television. The student can do a lot of research work via the Internet. They can also store the work in memory cards, flash disks, CDROMs and floppy diskettes. Therefore, the use of computers as learning tools has made education more simple and accessible to all students across the world. But due to the reason that most students have been practicing plagiarism, most teachers have not been recommending the use of computers in doing class work, the reason being students have become less creative when doing research. Educational pendulum exists due to the vicious cycles in the society. The society undergoes long-term cycles. Vicious cycles in the society undergo changes which eventually go back to the initial starting point. Same as the education system cycles exist bringing about the education pendulum. The changes brought forth by the societal dynamics are vast. The initial use of teachers to teach students was appropriate as the civilization process took root around the world. Teachers allow for a personal level interaction between teachers and the learners. Specific attention can be paid to students in need of extra attention to learn. The use of computers and the e-learning platform was introduced as the technological advancement across the globe took root. Both education systems came with different pros and cons. The intensity of shortcomings coming at the different eras owes to the education pendulum (Bourcy, 2001). Strategies that should and can be implemented to change that paradigm Strategies to curb education pendulum paradigm are at the disposal of educational administrators across the globe. Research laboratories on educational issues have come with various findings on global educational systems worldwide. The findings on educational variations can be a position to come up with strategies to curb education pendulum paradigm. Studying long-term dynamic changes in the society can help to come up with a permanent educational system. A long-term educational system can serve the society for a long time with insignificant and infrequent changes. A fixed educational system cannot be appropriate owing to the ever changing society. Technological advancements across the globe are a significant influence in educational systems. An educational system that ensures maximum learning potential to the learner must be sort after. Strategies to curb educational pendulum paradigm can be implemented. The mode and form of implementation must be carefully carried out to ensure that the strategy brings forth results. An educational system should be progressive rather than adopting a pendulum wheel movement. Long-term goals must be included when forming an educational system. The long term strategies must accommodate in it the long term projected changes in the society (Matthews, 2000). A new technological advancement, political regimes or demographic changes should improve a current educational system rather than reverse an old system. Educational administrators and leaders in this field should come up with strategies to curb the educational pendulum paradigm. Every other time, efficient educational systems are launched but due to inadequate implementation process end up failing. Educational strategies to end the pendulum paradigm in this sector needs to be clearly defined. An implementation plan for an educational approach needs to be adopted. A monitoring and performance evaluation process must be integrated with the strategy. This will ensure that the initial strategy is followed. Deviations from a system will be corrected since a monitoring and performance evaluation plan will help in detecting changes. Changes occur now and then in any society. The societal changes forces changes in already set educational strategy plans. Resistance to change can be a reason for failure for educational systems. A system must be flexible but secure from the sheer manipulation that can hinder it from attaining its end goal. How the role of the educational leader would change if this paradigm shift occurred. Educational leaders play a central role in any educational system. Role of an academic leader is defined by the academic system. Different academic systems vary in the intensity with which an academic leader participates in the learning process. The use of an academic leader driven system requires that the teaching process is centralized in the academic leader. Systems such as the computerized educational system will ease the role of an academic leader in the learning process. An end to the educational pendulum paradigm will mean a progressive rather than a repetitive educational system. An adoption of computerized educational system that also utilizes an academic leader is the way to go. The academic leader will act as a guide in the learning process while the bigger source of knowledge will be the computer-based system (Franklin, Rabins, & Kheir, 2014). A computerized-human teacher based educational system can be the best form of education to be adopted. Rotating around the sole computer to the human teacher based will be brought to an end. Educational pendulum will be put to an end as well. Technological advancements require the use of computer-based system. The psychological needs of specific learners on the other side require a human teacher based educational system. An appropriate educational system that accommodates technological and the demographic characteristics of the learners, therefore, must be adopted. Roles of the educational leader will change depending on the system adopted (Colker, 2005). An educational leader acts as a guide in the process of gaining knowledge. An end to the educational pendulum paradigm will change the roles of the educational leader. Educational leader will have a better defined and stable role. Inconsistency in the roles of educational leaders will be avoided since the system will be progressive rather than fluctuating. ReferencesTop of Form Bourcy, B. L. (2001).
